It seems to me so much of this is the “bad rap” algebra has, one that is sometimes shared/dreaded by the teacher. How can we get teachers excited to teach it?
Our experience was an 8th grade math teacher that seemed to have as much trouble explaining algebra as the kids did understanding it. A year later, same subject (Advanced Algebra), same subject, different teacher—that has made all the difference in student’s attitude, acceptance and grades.
Anyone else have that experience?
